Meeting 1 25th/July via Teams
We introduced and displayed our works to each other and explained our ideas behind them. Because everyone had different styles and forms of expression, we decided to go back and think about how to develop the whole group project. So that everyone would come up with an integrated idea of the project, which will be discussed at the next meeting.

We decided to do a series of motion posters with our logo and each was named after words taken from the poem: easy, cheesy, queasy and greasy.
Summary
My role in this project is the creative director. I am in charge of the direction of the project and supervise everyone’s work. When thinking about the name of the project, I proposed the idea of “Live On Beasley Street” which aims to use the power of Internet to bring hope and change to the people living at the bottom of the society like the ones on Beasley Street. In the early stage of the project, after proposing to make everyone’s books into a series of dynamic posters, I integrated the short videos provided by the team members into red and blue gifs and used one of the four words from the poem in each poster – easy cheesy, greasy and queasy. Lastly, I gathered our final outcomes and represented my group to make a speech in the final session.
Teamwork is difficult, especially for group students who are far away from each other. Although the semester has been started a long time, many classmates in different tutor groups still don’t know each other well. Fortunately, all of my group members live in Winchester, so we can often discuss and work together in the public study area of the Riverside student apartment.
In the first week, the division of roles was very difficult. Some team members think it may not be necessary to divide labor they just wanted to do it all together. Later in Jackie’s tutorial, we were told that we’d better divide our role as soon as possible, otherwise, it’s difficult to agree on the direction of this project. So we discussed it in the next meeting and sorted it out and things went well afterward.
In my group, everyone gives play to their strengths. For example, I’m good at video-making, others may be better at graphic design and branding, and some are better at modeling. Another challenge is that a member of our group didn’t do any works about this poem for she read the wrong brief at first. But later she used her modeling skills to help us set up a virtual venue and present our works in the form of TV models.
After watching other groups’ presentations, I realized that I didn’t think of adding sound to our website and video which is a pity. Moreover, there is not enough time. Although we started very early, we also have many ideas that can not be realized because time is limited.
On the whole, I think the members of our group are great. We don’t quarrel like other groups and no one shirks their responsibility. On the contrary, everyone consciously does their own work well and helps other group members the best they can. While doing the project, we also share a lot of learning resources with each other and talk about our study life and previous projects. Besides, I think my team really answers the remix brief for our identity is very strong. Through our website, we can clearly see that we are the same project with unified visual style and elements. At the same time, we can click on everyone’s poster to see the complete project and details of the individual.
